Top 10 Rarest Cat Breeds

Annually Cat Fanciers` Association (Eng. Cat Fanciers' Association, abbreviated CFA) publishes statistics on the number of registrations of various cat breeds in the world. Please note that only cat breeds that are recognized by the CFA are taken into account ( for today it is about 42 recognized cat breeds).
A regular report was published in February 2016, it was based on the registration data about all cat breeds from 1 January to 31 December 2015.
Breeds who took 10 last places in this report can be called the rarest species in the world.
Breeds who ranked 10 last places in this report can be called the rarest species in the world.
Just need to mention that it is the rarest of breeds recognized by the CFA.
For example, the smallest cat breed in the world, Scyf-toy-bob that is bred in Russia, is not recognized by the CFA.

10 place. American Curl. This breed was bred in the US in 1981 and stand out by twisted back ears. There are two varieties of this breed: medium long haired and short haired.
Some cat associations allocate these two kinds into two individual species. American Curl is fairly well known in the US but in other countries it is rather rare breed.

9th place. European Burmese cat. CFA distinguishes Burmese cat breed and its variety, European Burmese cat, that was bred in the UK.

7th place. American Bobtail - a large breed of domestic cats, derived from the North American wild cats in the 60-s of the last century, and in 1989 this breed was recognized by the three cat associations including CFA.

The price for the kittens of this breed kittens are in the range 200-2000 dollars, and depending on their grade and sex.

The rarest cat breed in the world - Dragon Lee (another name - Chinese Li Hua). CFA recognized this breed, that originates from Chinese wild cats, only 6 years ago - in 2010. Cat of this breed is almost impossible to buy outside China. However, in China itself, this breed is also not numerous.
